The Still Beach House in Soufriere, St Lucia is the perfect getaway for the independent traveller who is looking for a Creole St Lucian sojourn in the island’s cultural heartland. The Still Beach House suits both those who want to unwind and do little, as well as those who wish to use it as a launching point from which to take advantage of the southern district’s many offerings. Being on the beachfront you are but a few steps away from the warm, crystalline waters of the Caribbean Sea.
The Still Beach House has two Beach Front Rooms and three Beach Front Suites, all beautifully appointed and each with a King-Size Four Poster Bed. All have air-conditioning and private balcony overlooking the Beach & Majestic Petit Piton. Rooms are light, spacious and airy, opening out onto a walkway that leads to the beach.
Dining in the restaurant you can expect to enjoy uniquely tropical flavours while taking in Piton views. The Still Beach House Restaurant serves up authentic Creole cuisine from farm-fresh produce on a picturesque deck overlooking the waterfront.
The Still Beach House was refurbished from the original du Boulay Family beach home on Soufriere Bay. The du Boulay family have been a fixture in the life and lore of historical Soufriere for over four generations and their nearby 600 acre plantation, Ruby Estate, supplies The Still Beach House Restaurant with fresh, local produce. Ruby Estate also supplies the lumber for bedroom furnishings and the tropical floral arrangements which adorn the public areas. Mrs. Joan Devaux also lovingly planted Diamond Botanical Gardens as a tribute to her parents Mr & Mrs Andre du Boulay.
Soufriere, a five minute walk away, presents the visitor with an insight into its colourful and dynamic history, and some of the island’s most breathtaking scenery, including the iconic Petit & Gros Pitons. The bay is a fishing priority zone and early mornings and evenings are filled with the mesmerising activity of fishermen landing their nets and sorting their catch.
