About

Elijah McKenzie-Jackson is a 19-year-old British artist and activist whose passion for climate justice drives his work. He combines his art with activism to create meaningful change online and on the streets. At 15, he started raising awareness about the climate crisis and intersessional issues, including LGBTQ+ rights and animal liberation. Elijah has traveled to the Amazon Rainforest with the Guardian to engage with indigenous leaders and has spoken at the EU Parliament, UN Climate Conference, and House of Lords with Chief Raoni.
As a leading climate protestor named by the New York Times and the most influential Gen-Z activist by Envision Virgin Racing, Elijah has been organizing climate strikes since February 2019 with UK Student Climate Network and Fridays for Future. He divides his time between New York City and London, where he lives as a full-time activist and artist. Mckenzie-Jackson is the founder of the civic art collective "EMJ Earth" and co-founder of the non-profit organization "Waic Up," which is focused on improving climate communication.
